Grandma reading. Here's some encouraging things my grandma has said recently that I thought you all might want to hear...

"I had this little girl and she got me saved. Because I loved her and wanted her to hear the Word of God." When my mother was 2 years old, my grandmother wanted take her to learn about God. So she found a church called a Bible church. She figured they would preach the Bible, and they did. It wasn't 2 services and my grandma went up front and got saved. She tells us about that often.

We were singing a song the other morning and she said "When I sing that song I see Jesus hanging on the cross. Praise be to the Lord, he's hanging on the cross for us!"

Well, Saddam Hussein was executed. I know it was for a good cause, they say many people died because of him, and his death will save many lives, but it's still sad. I don't think I could have done it. It's sad to see how evil and bittter a man's heart can be, and it's sad to see him have to be put to death, being too stubborn to repent. Sin kills, poor man. World Net's coverage. Thank God for His mercy, or we'd all be there. He comes to make His blessings known, far as the curse is found.

Now I'm not much of a computer gamer, but I like to try my hand at Elasto Mania every couple years or so. So I am offering it here as a New Year special, just one of the many benefits of frequenting BrotherBear.org. Free Download of Elasto Mania (1.09 mb)

Use up to go, down to brake, left and right to swing your arm, and space to turn around. The helmet is useless, bump it and you're dead. You'll love the cool sound effects.

Speaking of New Years, I had a great time with the church yesterday for New Years Eve. You can get some photo coverage of the day over at Fellow Ello's. We had some good worship in song, read some exciting Bible chapters, and had some close prayer. I talked about Jesus empowering us to live the Spirit life. It was a little from Romans chapters 6-8, and then relating it to Deuteronomy 6:1-19 where it talks about keeping God ever before us.

Deut 6:10 And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,
11 And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;
12 Then beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

Beware! May we not forget that it is the LORD who brought us out of bondage, and filled our lives with countless unearned blessings. List God's gifts to you in '06 and thank Him for them all! Recognize that it is He who gives all good things.
