Jim and Alanna Soderna, Missionaries to the Preborn
Alanna came over and told us about the work she and Jim are doing. It was very encouraging. Their ministry has been able to close 7 of the abortion clinics in Milwaukee by peacefully protesting the abortionist's offices, homes, and churches. They are still working on the remaining 2 clinics, one of which is Planned Parenthood. Another work they are doing is delivering Bibles to foreign countries. Jim was off doing that, so he wasn't with us.

Here we are praying for them.

Speaking of the pro-life cause. Amity and I got to speak out against the proposed Planned Parenthood coming to Auburn Hills at a packed city hall the other night. The Lord gave me the words to say to the Council Members. Amity was my visual, and they all loved her. I got kind of graphic. I said something like this...
"I would like to speak to your heart and to your conscience. I know abortion is 'legal.' But how is it that you can take  a cute little baby like this and just a few months ago while she was still in her mother say it's okay to end her life? That it's okay to give her a lethal injection, or burn her until she's so charred that her life is snuffed out. I've heard that some abortions are almost like sending the baby through a blender and grinding it up so it's easy to get the skull out. I am asking that you do everything you can legally, and more than that from you conscience, to stop the Planned Parenthood facility from coming to Auburn Hills."
They were receptive. The mayor said he would even forward our petition to the state.

On a lighter note, we went to visit the Botanical Garden in Ann Arbor. It was like a taste of summer...

Genesee County Jail...

Chaplain John Heyworth and family, Amanda and I, Ryan Wegner, and others got to hold a chapel service at the jail. I had been wanting to speak to them, and then Mr. Heyworth asked if we wanted to come. I said "Yes!" very quickly.

I preached on Ezekiel's Valley of Dry Bones, from Ezekiel chapter 37.
No matter how dry, dead, and useless you may look or feel, God wants to turn you into a life-filled, spirit-filled soldier for good. God has a vision for you. You may need to FIND it, you may need to RETURN to it, or you may just need to KEEP GOING in it. But whatever your situation, join that vision God has for you.

Oh what a joy it is to live for God! God was there, and the men were receptive and joyful.

Samson, a Perfectly Good Life, Wasted On Sin.
How many people do you know who had an angel proclaim their birth? Isaac, John the baptist, Jesus. They were not small people. Samson was one of them too. I'm convinced that...
God wanted to use Samson for a great deliverance.
Judges 13:3-5 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son. Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing: For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.
However...

Samson chose to follow sin instead of God
Women, women, women. Samson just couldn't get enough of them.

Sin blinds, binds and grinds. It ruined Samson.
Sin had blinded Samson so much that he couldn't see how far he had fallen, or the trickery of Delilah and the Philistines. He was so bound in sin that he couldn't leave it alone, even though it had lost all it's fun. The sin just kept grinding away at him until he became a mindless wreck.
Judges 16:21 But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.

God, in His faithful mercy, still used Samson
God had promised years earlier that He would use Samson for a deliverance. And in the end, Samson did live out God's plan for him. Although I'm convinced that because of his sin, Samson's life accomplishments were far less than what they should have been.
Judges 16:27-30 Now the house was full of men and women; and all the lords of the Philistines were there; and there were upon the roof about three thousand men and women, that beheld while Samson made sport. And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes. And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left. And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.

Amity keeps me from getting overly project focused. She likes to be right in the middle of things. So as I'm working on the computer, here's where she is sitting. Gotta love her. I'm so blessed and thankful.
