Thursday My family and I went to the Alessio's place, as we often do, but this time we did something different. Mr. Alessio had a fun plan. He, his son Ricky, my Dad, and us three older boys would go down the road to U of M in Ann Arbor and tell people about Jesus' saving power. There were people all over. We went separate ways, and it went like this...

Mr. Alessio circled the grounds in prayer, placing the blessing of God on all.

My Dad with lots of prayer went out with just his big black Bible, and would ask people "Can I read a Bible verse to you?", or "I have a verse for you.", or "God has something to say to you." It was just great, who could say no to that? Then he would read them a verses like... Jeremiah 33:3 "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.", or John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Aah, now that's the way to spread hope in this world. See, that's what God is all about, showing truth, leading the way, giving life. One man upon hearing Jeremiah 33:3 reached over and read the verse himself, sounding it out slowly, and understandingly. Another said "funny you should say that, I've just started going back to church, and things are going well for me."

Jeriah, my eldest brother was with Ricky, they had the opportunity to chat with a young man for quite a while, on who God is, and who Jesus is. He said he would read his Bible (and they're holding him to it :-))

As for me, I printed up some CDs with songs and a special message on them earlier in the day. The CD speaks of freedom through Jesus. The songs are a call, a call for all who will hear (and hear you must), to come to freedom, to leave all behind and come to Jesus... To forget the world, and self indulgence... and find true, lasting, freedom. There is so much peace in giving-in to Jesus, in releasing all, to follow Him. It's true, it's genuine, I know because it's in me. Inner peace. Jesus says "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."(John14:27).

The most encouraging experience I had in passing out one of these CDs was to a lovely lady who I would guess was around 60. She was just barely scuffing along with a cane, she had kind eyes, with glasses that made them look very round. I had just handed one to a student walking by, and then I turned around a handed one to her saying "Here, I have something for you. It's a CD of music I make."
She just lit up, and looked up at me with those very round eyes, and was like... "Oh, wow, that is wonderful, thank you very much, you made this?..." She was sooo thankful.
I told her "it speaks of freedom, and hope"
And she kept going on saying... "well gee, thanks very much, this is wonderful, I have a CD player in my car, I will listed to it right away..."
I replied... "You do that."
"...Wow, this is great, can I pay you for it? (reaching for her purse)"
I assured her... "Oh, no, it's free. "
"...Well gee, Thank you very much for giving this to me. Wow, I will listen to it in my car, I'm going there now."
She was just so excited, and thankful for it, it shocked me. We prayed for her on the ride back. She was such a blessing to me.

And just so all of you out there will know. She truly did have the proper response, those CDs mean a lot, every word, every thought, all the prayers, come straight from the heart of God. Even though through the most meager of sources.

Saturday Me and my bros. got to go hear Keith Daniel preach. He spoke on his Godly father-in-law, and realy both parents-in-law. The story of their incomporomising faithfulness to God impacted me so deeply. The Lord spoke to my heart of some sin I needed to confess, and also of the need to have a commitment to daily time alone with God every night. And I did it. Lord bless those parents-in-law for their life story. If you would like to see a video of one of Keith's messages, there's a good one here ForsakeAll.com go to Semon on the Mount. Who knows, maybe if I get a tape (I ordered one), I might be able to get the message from Saturday online.

Here's Keith Daniel
