Post 87

All this week I've been thinking on abiding in the Light. I believe it was the Lord who put the thought in my head when I awoke Monday, so I looked it up. These two verses...

John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

1John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
See, it's the same thing... Abiding in Christ, and walking in the Light.

I have heard tell of people from yesteryear who had a powerful presence of God on their lives. Their commitment to Christ was so great that sometimes they didn't even have to try, and people would come to God around them. They may walk into a room and instantly everyone in the room breaks down into weeping, and gets right with God. They may pass someone on the street, and before you know it, the person they passed is convicted of their sin, and comes to God. I heard of one man who was supposed to preach, but all he could say was "oh", and the presence of God was so strong that people all over the gathering started loosing their composition and repenting of their sin. It went on for hours. Freed life, after freed life.

Not only have I heard of people like this, but I have seen them. And I want to be like that. I want to abide in Christ, to walk in the Light. Not live in sin, not let anything get between me and God. But simply live as a humble servant of His.

People don't come to hear what I have to say, they come to hear what God has to say. -Billy Grahm

That's what I want. His words abiding in me.

Faithy embroidered some awesome shirts for me and Levi. (and she'd be delighted to make you one) Jesus freed me! That's for sure, He is a life saver. Freed me FROM what could have been a very worthless life. Freed me TO a very fulfilling life.

Got to do a little skiing. Praise the Lord! Had a blessed time with saints.

Went to the Lapeer Civic Orchestra tonight. It was a terrific concert. Most of the people in it are my friends, so it makes it all the more meaningful. I think it was my most favorite concert ever.
