Intro
G D C G

G D
Hey, there, I look and see, what's that
C G
fluttering up there in the bright blue sky?
G D
Hey, and now, it's in the tall green grass! So
C G
colorful, I think it's a butterfly!

G D
Oh! and my! Where's it goin' now?
C G
Beautifully flying up the winding trail.
G D
But I can catch up, 'cause I'm a spunky, jumpy lamb.
C G
I think it likes my fluffy little tail!

G D
Wow! and now, would you look at that view from here!
C G
A thousand miles, and there's a sparkling stream.
    G D
The sunlight, how it glitters off those wings!
C G
Happily gliding, oh, what a mighty fine thing!

(pause, and remorseful groan)

G D
My, I think I've wandered from the fold again.
C G
From the Good Shepherd Who I love the most.
G D
Oh, He must be sad for me again. So I'll
C G
cry for Him, cry the only way I know!

G D C G

   G D
Oh dear! It's getting a little bit cold for me. And a
C G
little bit scary alone in the dark, you see.
G D
Ah! What's that? I think I hear something wrong.
C G
It's something coming. Oh, what could it be?

G D C G(with high notes at end)

    G D
But Ah! It's the Good Shepherd back for me!
C G
Sorry I wandered. A butterfly! A tree!
    G D
But He took me, and warmed me in His coat.
C G
He was so happy, He did a little jig with me!

G D
Back we skipped down to the fold again.
C G
I was embarrassed, so He hid me in His arms.
G D
He let me sleep in the house that night;
C G
down by the fireside, oh, so cozy and warm.

    G D
Now I don't know, but I think I'm the happiest lamb;
C G
though I'm distracted and easily give in.
       G D
'Cause my Good Shepherd's always there for me,
C G
waiting for me to jump in His arms again.
C G
Waiting for me to jump in His arms again.
