Verse 1a
repeat G D C

Jesus was teaching in the city one day,
making the blind see, delivering people from evil spirits.
He was healing the sick.
Many were seeing the truth.
He had many followers, but the Pharisees? No.
Jesus wasn't "religious" enough for them.
He had to much love.
One of them said to Jesus, and His disciples,
"Come over to my house, and we'll eat."
Jesus took him up on it,
and while they were eating, a woman came in.
She stood behind Jesus, weeping.
She loved Jesus.
She knew that Jesus would free her from her sin.
The Pharisee was shocked!
"Not that woman!" he said. "I would never be seen with her!"
And He said...

Verse 1b
 G D Em
"Jesus, if You are a Prophet,
C G
why do you let her stand and weep?
    G D Em
And Jesus, if You are a Prophet,
C G
why do You let her touch Your feet?
    G Dsus Em
And Jesus, if You are a Prophet,
C G
why does she kiss you while we eat?
    G D Em
And Jesus, if You were a Prophet, You would have
C G
known that she's a sinner on the street."

Verse 1c

Jesus said,
"he that is forgiven little loves little,
but he that's been forgiven much loves much."

Chorus 1
E E B C#m
 I want to see how much I've been forgiven;
             A B
I've been forgiven; I've been forgiven.
             E B C#m
Lord, let me see how much I've been forgiven,
            A B
then I will love; I will love much.
          E B C#m
I want to see how much I've been forgiven;
             A B
I've been forgiven; I've been forgiven.
             E B C#m
Lord, let me see how much I've been forgiven,
           A B B
and I will love; oh, I will love much.

Verse 2
repeat G D C

Now where does all this anger come from?
And all this fighting? And wars?
Don't they come from right in here?
(pause and point to self)
I want and I cant have.
I fight and war and cannot get it.
Ya know why?
'Cause I'm askin' my OWN desires,
and all He's wantin' is to love me,
and for me to know Him.
Oh, It's just self asking, that's all I'm doin' like that.
Making an idol of myself.
A friend of the world,
and a friend of the world is an enemy of God.
But He gives more grace.
That's why He says,
"God resisteth the proud, but gives grace to the humble."

Chorus 2
E E B C#m
 I want to see how much I've been forgiven;
             A B
I've been forgiven; I've been forgiven.
             E B C#m
Lord, let me see how much I've been forgiven,
           A B
and I will love. I will love much.
              E B C#m
For when I've seen how much I've been forgiven,
           A B
oh, I have loved much, yes, I love much.
             E B C#m
Lord, let me see how much I've been forgiven,
            A B
then I will love. Oh, I will love much.
          E B C#m
I want to see, see how much I've been forgiven;
             A B
I've been forgiven; I've been forgiven.
            E B C#m
Yes, when I see how much I've been forgiven,
       A B B
I have loved, and I love each one of you.

And I'm no longer gone.
I'm no longer gone.
